Identifying Synonyms – Fun interactive graphics and animation is Squanky the Tooth Taker Tooth Tally provides players with practice in finding synonyms.
Spelling Practice – Reveal the picture by spelling the word in this fun word game.
Spelling and Vocabulary – This online word game provides the traditional fun of a hangman game with an extensive vocabulary list. In addition, the site provides an option to look up words.
Players can choose the length of words and the number of incorrect guesses allowed.
Practice Spelling – Play Spelling Bees and build your beehive by correctly spelling the given words. The player that builds the highest beehive before time runs out wins! Multi-player options provided.
Book Cover Creator – The Book Cover Creator is designed to allow users to type and illustrate front book covers, front and back covers, and full dust jackets. Students can use the tool to create new covers for books that they read as well as to create covers for books they write individually or as a class.
Book Cover Guide – Students can use the tool on the Smartboard to review the parts of a book cover before analyzing how book covers work or creating their own book covers.
Writing an Acrostic Poem – Students can learn about and write acrostic poems. An acrostic poem uses the letters in a word to begin each line of the poem.
Myths Brainstorming Machine – The Brainstorming Machine will help students get started when they need writing ideas for a myth. They can select the setting, the characters, and other effects. Use this for your ELA lesson!
Poetry Idea Engine – The interactive Poetry Idea Engine helps students identify and write different types of poetry.
Reading Comprehension – Students read a passage and select the word(s) needed to complete the sentence correctly. They must use context clues and comprehension in order to be able to answer correctly.
